Airbus India has donated two Tata 407 vehicles to Akshaya Patra as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. Both these brand new vans, costing about Rs. 17 lakh each, will be capable of delivering the mid-day meal to approximately 3,500 children per vehicle.

The vans were inaugurated on 14th January at the Airbus premises in Bangalore. Present at the inauguration were Dr. Srinivasan Dwarakanath, Managing Director Airbus India, Vice President, Intl COOP., South and South-East Asia, along with the entire team of Airbus.

After flagging off the vehicles the Airbus team was treated to an Akshaya Patra lunch provided by the Vasanthapura (VK Hill) kitchen, to provide them with a taste of the Foundation's work. Almost 400 employees of Airbus India had the opportunity to eat the food and the feedback was heart-warming and inspiring.

This is the first donation to Akshaya Patra by Airbus India, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with them.
