A historic milestone
On 17 March 2026, the Hon’ble President of India, Droupadi Murmu, commemorated The Akshaya Patra Foundation’s remarkable milestone of serving 5 billion cumulative meals to children across India, an achievement that also marks 25 years of dedicated service to the nation.
The ceremony was held at Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre, New Delhi. Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu graced the event as the Chief Guest and the Hon’ble Minister of Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan was the Guest of Honour. The event was held in the august presence of Shri Madhu Pandit Dasa, Founder & Chairman, The Akshaya Patra Foundation and Shri Chanchalapathi Dasa, Co-Founder & Vice-Chairman, The Akshaya Patra Foundation.
This significant milestone has been made possible through the steadfast support of Central and State governments, UT administrations, government officials, corporate partners, philanthropic donors and countless like-minded individuals.
