Let's join hands for COVID-19 relief

Campaign Overview

The world is grappling with COVID-19, and it has turned people’s lives upside-down. It has impacted working-class people across India severely, and innumerable people need immediate help for basic survival. Although I’m just 14 years old and fortunate to maintain a decent lifestyle, I notice that many people are in a less fortunate state than some of us and would appreciate our financial assistance. The entire world is in partial lockdown, and laborers have lost their jobs and livelihoods. Everything has come to an impasse as the epidemic is spreading like wildfire. During these trying times, countless individuals and families are deprived of essential needs for subsistence. Without sufficient income to purchase food and water, many are struggling to stay afloat. In order to help people, I am volunteering on behalf of the Akshaya Patra Foundation, a 20-year-old Indian NGO, to raise funds for this worthy cause. They provide relief service as a meal or packed groceries to marginalized and low-income groups such as migrant and construction workers. For instance, supplying cooked meals for a month for one person costs just Rs 1500, less than what some of us might spend in a restaurant for dinner. In closing, I would urge each one of you to consider donating a small amount to this initiative so that we can help lift people’s spirits and put a smile on their faces.
