The New India Assurance Co. Ltd

The New India Assurance Co. Ltd., based in Mumbai, Maharashtra is a public sector general insurance company of India. It is the “largest general insurance company of India on the basis of gross premium collection inclusive of foreign operations”. It was founded by Sir Dorabji Tata in 1919, and was nationalized in 1973. New India Assurance operates both in India and foreign countries. The company is sponsoring the midday meal of a few thousand children across India. They are also a co-sponsor of 50,000 capacity rice based kitchen for midday meal scheme at Lawspet, Puducherry.


The Jewelley Channel is a fully own subsidiary of the VGL group of companies and has grown to become one of the largest jewellery retailers in the UK, and a popular brand amongst those who love luxury. Launched on 4th April 2006, our TV Shopping Network now broadcasts to over 30 million homes across the UK and Republic of Ireland. TJC is a respected member of the jewellery industry worldwide – we are affiliated to The British Jewellers Association (BJA), the Thai Gem & Jewellery Traders Association, The Jewellers Board of Trade and the International Coloured Gemstone Association. Alongside financial and economical aspirations, TJC is also committed to give something back to the society. Hence we have collaborated with Akshay Patra since January 2015 to initiate a mid-day meal programme for under privileged children. We are covering 14186+ students in a day which converts to around 354K lunches in a month for the students.


Toshiba has a long history of over 60 years in India. Toshiba is focusing on sustainable B2B fields like railway systems, batteries, elevators and water treatment besides power systems field. With the slogan "Committed to People, Committed to the Future", Toshiba has partnered with Akshaya Patra's Mid-Day Meal Programme with the aim to improve lives of the children. In FY 2019-20, Toshiba sponsored meals for 3,000 children in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

With support from UST, the Foundation has distributed 1500 Happiness Kits to government school children in Bangalore, Chennai and Mysore.

Established in 1993, UTI Infrastructure Technology and services Limited (UTIITSL) is a government owned company that provides technology and outsourcing services to the financial and government sectors of India. UTIITSL has proven market leadership in administration of mutual funds, PAN card Issuance and printing, Insurance services (medical bill processing) , e- governance and technology.

“VGL has sponsored one Akshaya Patra mid-day meal for every item sold at The Jewellery Channel (a VGL Group company), UK. TJC is supporting mid-day meals for 14,000 Government school children since, January 2015. Fom October 2017 onwards they have increased their support by adding another 25000 children meal per day under their Shop Lc USA based company.”


Vistara is a joint venture of Tata Sons Limited and Singapore Airlines Limited (SIA). Registered as TATA SIA Airlines Limited, Vistara is an Indian domestic full-service airline. The common goal of the joint venture is to redefine air travel in and to/from India to provide travellers a seamless and personalised flying experience that blends Tata’s and SIA’s service excellence and legendary hospitality. Vistara joined hands with The Akshaya Patra Foundation in 2015 and has been a constant support to mid-day meal beneficiaries and towards the COVID Relief Service. Their support has ensured that children get nutrition and stay connected with studies and personal hygiene is maintained.

Wagh Bakri Tea Group

Wagh Bakri Tea Group has been in the business of tea since 1892. It is currently one of the most trusted packaged tea brands in India. Wagh Bakri Foundation is a registered Public Charitable Trust and has been formed with a thrust to undertake CSR activities in a more focused manner. Wagh Bakri Tea Group has been making sincere endeavours to bring about a visible change in the society by contributing in the fields of education, healthcare, women empowerment and other socio-economic development activities. Wagh Bakri has supported Akshaya Patra by sponsoring a meal distribution vehicle. They have also supported by providing cooked meals to the needy people and Happiness Kits to school children for various locations in Gujarat.

Western Digital (WD)

Western Digital (WD) is an American computer hard disk drive manufacturer and data storage company. It designs, manufactures and sells data technology products including storage devices, data center systems and cloud storage services. Western Digital has partnered with Akshaya Patra to enhance lives of Government school children of Bangalore. Western Digital and Akshaya Patra have conducted various impactful volunteering activities where more than 300 Western Digital employees participated with a goodwill of transforming lives of children.

Wipro GE Healthcare Private Limited

Wipro GE Healthcare Private Limited (WGE) is a Joint Venture (JV) between General Electric Company, USA and Wipro Enterprises Limited, India. Established in 1990, it is one of the most successful and longest-running JVs in the region with operations spread across India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives and Bhutan. The company is the largest Medical Technology player in the South Asia region. WGE is focused on addressing some of the toughest healthcare challenges - lowering maternal and infant deaths, enabling early detection of cancer, addressing heart diseases effectively and driving better outcomes for trauma patients among others. Wipro GE has helped enhance the sanitization and hygiene of close to 200 government school benefitting 20,000 children through the Swastha Shaala initiative through the COVID-19 pandemic in FY 2021-22.

World Pranic Healing Foundation (WPHF)

Pranic Healing is a simple yet very powerful energy healing methodology given by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui. It can be used to heal a range of ailments, from simple to complex, based on their complexity. It is also used to maintain good health, physically, emotionally and mentally. To promote Pranic Healing in various parts of Asia and Africa, the World Pranic Healing Foundation (WPHF) was established on 23rd July 1990. Till date, the Foundation (excluding the branch office in India) has been able to help spread Pranic Healing in around 39 countries. WPHF started supporting the Mid-Day Meal Programme in the year 2018. They have sponsored school meals of 5000 children in Jaipur and Puri in the years 2019-20 and continue their support in 2020-21 as well.
