Akshaya Tritiya is one of the most auspicious observances for Hindus and  Jains.

The word Akshaya means ‘never diminishing’ and is a propitious day for making  new beginnings. Any venture that is begun on Akshaya Tritiya is thought  to bring much prosperity.  Lord Parshurama – Lord Vishnu’s sixth incarnation – was born of this day  and Shri Veda Vyasa began writing the Mahabharata  on this day as well.

Akshaya Tritiya is also the day the Pandavas received the ‘Akshaya Patra’ – an  inexhaustible vessel of food.

The Akshaya Patra Foundation, named after this ‘Akshaya Patra’ from the  Mahabharata, through its Mid-Day Meal Programme, feeds over 1.6 million children through its ‘unlimited food for education’ initiative.

Akshaya Tritiya is the perfect occasion to make a difference to the lives  of school children with your contribution towards the cause.

Today, gift plenty to the children of India. Secure their futures with a hot  school lunch every day with your donation!
