Ashada Ekadashi, also known as Padma Ekadashi, is a highly auspicious day. While charitable giving on Ekadashis is generally considered auspicious, doing so on Ashada Ekadashi—one of the most important of the 24 Ekadashis—amplifies the merit of such acts manifold.
You can make this Ashada Ekadashi more meaningful by adding the noble act of feeding children and women to your rituals.
This Ekadashi is known by different names in different parts of the country. For instance, in Maharashtra, it is referred to as Ashadi Ekadashi or Devshayani Ekadashi and is closely associated with Pandharpur Pilgrimage. In Karnataka, it is called Ashada Ekadashi. In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, it is known as Toli Ekadashi, and in North India, Hari Shayani Ekadashi.
Add goodwill to this special day with Akshaya Patra
Despite the economic growth achieved over the years, a section of the population continues to face the challenge of accessing nutritious food on a regular basis. The Akshaya Patra Foundation hopes to change this through its three feeding programmes—school feeding, Anganwadi feeding and homeless mothers feeding—each targeting a particular vulnerable group.
IMPACT SO FAR
With the generosity of people like you, we are currently feeding over 2.25 million children and women across the country.
Observe this day with a gesture that spreads smiles across the faces of millions of children and women in 78 different locations across India’s 16 states and 3 UTs. On this significant day, feed people in need with Akshaya Patra.
