Maha Kumbh Mela 2025
In 2025, the Maha Kumbh Mela is scheduled to take place in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, from 13 January to 26 February. This year, the Maha Kumbh It is expected to draw over 40 Crore devotees as they seek to take a dip in the holy waters of Ganga.
While the event starts from 13 January, millions of people are expected to pour into the city. The Government of Uttar Pradesh is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the success of the event.
Akshaya Patra’s Feeding Efforts at Maha Kumbh 2025
The Government of Uttar Pradesh has invited The Akshaya Patra Foundation to feed people attending the Maha Kumbh this year. With millions of people attending the Maha Kumbh, Akshaya Patra’s priority is to ensure that no one goes hungry. We need your support to feed millions of people who will be visiting Prayagraj for the holy gathering from 13 January to 26 February.
Each meal costs ₹25
We aim to serve 10,000 meals per day over a period of 45 days.
Where: Parade Ground (Near Hanuman Mandir) Sangam, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh
What will be served: Khichadi, pulav, jeera rice, theri, ghee rice with rajma subji, chole subji, dal and pickle or jaggery
Annadaan holds immense significance during the Maha Kumbh Mela. Feeding the hungry is regarded as one of the highest forms of charity, especially in the context of this spiritual gathering. It is believed that providing food during such a pious event multiplies the blessings received.
Let’s feed those in need and help foster a sense of community and compassion.
During the Kumbh Mela of 2018-19, we served over 600,000 meals.
Did You Know: Maha Kumbh, held every 12 years, rotates among four holy sites: Prayagraj, Haridwar, Ujjain and Nashik. Prayagraj is regarded as the most significant as it marks the confluence of three sacred rivers: Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati.
