On 20 February 2020, Honourable Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Kamal Nath graced the occasion of Bhumi Pujan of The Akshaya Patra Foundation at Chhindwara district. The dignitaries present along with the CM were, the President of HEG Ltd. - Shri Ravi Jhunjhunwala, Vice-Chairman of The Akshaya Patra Foundation - Shri Chanchalapathi Dasa, MP of Lok Sabha - Shri Nakul Nath. 

The Foundation’s Chhindwara Kitchen aims to feed 7000 students from 116 Government and Government-aided schools within the first phase. During the second phase, healthy and nutritious meals will be served to 15,000 students within 6 months. As of today, Akshaya Patra feeds 18,02,517 children studying in 16,856 schools, spread across 51 locations of 12 States and 2 Union Territories of India.
