Two vehicles donated to Mysuru kitchen
Two vehicles were donated to Akshaya Patra's Mysuru unit on 28th May. The custom designed vans were donated to the Foundation by B. D Damodaram and family in memory of their daughter B.D Sadhana. The family also donated a vehicle to Akshaya Patra's Vasanthapura kitchen in Bengaluru last year on this same day.
Speaking on the occasion Prakash, son of B. D Damodaram, said he was pleased to donate these vehicles to Akshaya Patra in memory of his sister.
The vehicles have been customised to include the signature honeycomb structure that prevents food from spilling during travel, and the insulated body that maintains the temperature of the food till delivery.
The van will transport food to over 5,000 children across 15 schools in the Mysuru region.
