A new van for mid-day meals
BANGALORE: IKOCL Limited, a Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Steel, Government of India and a responsible corporate citizen, has donated a custom built vehicle to Akshaya Patra Foundation, for distribution of clean and hygienic mid-day meal to the children studying in various schools in and around Bangalore and suburban areas under Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
K Ranganath, chairmancum- managing-director, KIOCL Limited handed over the keys of the vehicle to executive director of Akshaya Patra Foundation, Sridhar Venkat at a simple ceremony held at ISKCON temple premises July 22.
Maj Gen (Dr) Om Prakash Soni, Director (commercial), S Rajendra, general manager (personnel) and other officers of KIOCL were present. A similar vehicle was donated to Mangalore branch of Akshaya Patra few weeks ago.

Around 25 enthusiastic young volunteers participated in a cleanliness drive organised by AIKYA, in pursuance of its mission to enhance the quality of school education, promote a culture of ‘Cleanliness and Hygiene’ in schools served by The Akshaya
