Havells India’s QRG Foundation partners with Akshaya Patra for new kitchen in Rajasthan
QRG Foundation, established by Havells India, joined hands with Akshaya Patra for a new kitchen in Alwar, Rajasthan, to provide mid-day meals to children in Government and Government-aided schools across India. An MoU was signed to this effect on July 9, 2018, in Jaipur. While QRG Foundation would be the financial partner and provide capital support in the form of a centralised kitchen facility, Akshaya Patra would be the operating partner in the relationship and manage all day-to-day responsibilities to ensure that wholesome, cooked meals reach children. This centralised kitchen was earlier being operated and managed directly by QRG Foundation team and the said partnership shall lead to a new merged team with experienced hands from both teams now jointly managing the operations. The partnership is conceived to leverage the core expertise of Akshaya Patra to sustainably manage and run large-scale kitchen operations. The arrangement would add close to 50,000 beneficiaries to our programme.
