Awarded ABP News Positive Award 2015
Akshaya Patra received the ABP News Positive Award 2015 in New Delhi on 10 December, 2015 for being a symbol of positive change in society.
The award was conferred with the intention to honour those individuals and organisations across different categories for their commendable work towards the betterment of society. The awards were given out across 11 categories, from which 5 contestants were shortlisted across each category. An eminent panel of five jury members then selected the winners from each category.
The awards were conducted in three phases. In phase one, entries were invited through communication via website, television and helpline. In phase two, the list of the top 50 entries was consolidated. In phase three, the jury met to decide the winners, and voting lines were opened to the public for the Popular Choice category. The winners were felicitated in New Delhi, with key dignitaries present on the occasion.
