100,000 food packets sent to Jammu and Kashmir flood victims
100,000 packets of theplas (Indian bread) were made at Akshaya Patra's Ahmedabad and Vadodara kitchens and sent to the flood affected regions in Jammu and Kashmir. The rotis were airlifted from the Vadodara kitchen on the morning of 11th September 2014 to be distributed among flood victims.
On June 7, 2017, Akshaya Patra opened a new centralised kitchen in Bhavnagar – fifth largest city in the state of Gujarat
Around 25 enthusiastic young volunteers participated in a cleanliness drive organised by AIKYA, in pursuance of its mission to enhance the quality of school education, promote a culture of ‘Cleanliness and Hygiene’ in schools served by The Akshaya
