One lakh meals to be airlifted to earthquake hit Nepal

30 April, 2015: Akshaya Patra has dispatched 400 kgs of roasted channa (chickpea), 100 kgs of shakkar pari (Indian snack) and 100 kgs of jaggery. The items were all sent in packages of 250 grams each. The Foundation will be sending 2,000 kgs of Murmure (puffed rice) today.

29 April, 2015: Akshaya Patra has been requested by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) to provide food as part of the relief measures underway for those affected by the earthquake in Nepal. One lakh meals comprising of puris, pickles, cakes, biscuits, channa and makhana are being prepared from the Jaipur kitchen, and will be transported to Delhi, where they will be airlifted to the relief site.
