Ilaiyaraaja 50: Live in Concert - Music for Meals, was a landmark celebration honouring Maestro Ilaiyaraaja’s 50 years in Indian music, also marking The Akshaya Patra Foundation’s 25 years of unwavering service to children. Presented by One Mercuri, the event was held at the BIEC - NICE Grounds, Madavara and the concert brought together legacy, emotion and purpose in a shared celebration. The concert concluded as a historic chapter, honouring a musical icon, celebrating a humanitarian milestone and reaffirming the enduring impact of art when it serves a greater purpose.

BHOOMI POOJA FOR PATNA KITCHEN

On 16 June 2025, Bihar’s Education Minister Shri Sunil Kumar laid the foundation stone for the state’s first centralised Akshaya Patra Foundation kitchen in Patna, set to serve mid-day meals under the PM POSHAN scheme. The kitchen aims to provide nutritious meals to government schoolchildren, improving their health, attendance, and academic performance. This marks the first collaboration between Bihar and the Foundation.

Music for Meals: A Concert with One Purpose

Music for Meals with AGAM band, a two-day charity concert, enthralled music enthusiasts all over in Bengaluru. AGAM, a popular Carnatic progressive rock band comes together with Akshaya Patra in support of a cause– to keep every child in school well-nourished. ‘Golf for Good’, a charity tournament in aid of Akshaya Patra powered by Neokred’s Empact Project was held in Prestige Golfshire Club, Bengaluru on 21 March 2025. The funds raised through this event will help Akshaya Patra to feed 1,400 children (approximately 3,20,122 meals) for a year.

The Akshaya Patra Foundation’s 78th kitchen was inaugurated in North Goa on 17 March 2025 with the support of the Government of Goa and the anchor patron, National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI).

Akshaya Patra’s 76th kitchen inaugurated in Avalahalli, Bengaluru

The Akshaya Patra Foundation’s 76th kitchen was inaugurated in in Cheemasandra Village, Avalahalli Panchayat, Bidarahalli, Bengaluru. This centralised kitchen will provide daily nutritious meals This is the Foundation’s sixth kitchen in the city and is set to provide over 7,500 nutritious mid-day meals each day to over 60 government and government-aided schools in areas of Bidarahalli and Cheemasandra areas. The event was inaugurated by chief guests, Smt Manjula Aravind Limbavali, Member of Legislative Assembly, Mahadevapura Assembly Constituency, Bengaluru and Shri Aravind Limbavali, Former Minister, Government of Karnataka. Smt Latha kumari Kumari IAS, CEO of Bengaluru Urban District Zilla Panchayat graced the occasion.

Akshaya Patra’s 75th kitchen inaugurated in Chikkajala, Bengaluru

This centralised kitchen will provide daily nutritious meals to 35,000 students studying in 200 government and government-aided schools around areas of Hebbal, Jakkur and Yelahanka.

Hindustan Electro Graphite Ltd funded the construction of the new facility, which will nourish over 50,000 school children daily.

Hon’ble Chief Minister - Assam, Inaugurates 65th Kitchen in Jorhat

On 29 July 2022, Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma – Chief Minister of Assam, inaugurated The Akshaya Patra Foundation’s centralised kitchen in Jorhat, Assam. The state-of-the-art centralised kitchen, spread over an area of 3 acres, is built in partnership with Credit Suisse, the platinum donors of the project, as well as Apraava Energy Private Limited and ATE Chandra Foundation. The new unit is Akshaya Patra’s 65th kitchen in the country and second in the state of Assam. It will enable the Foundation to impact the lives of over 30,000 children through the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman (PM POSHAN) [formerly the Mid-Day Meal (MDM) Scheme].
