Donate Stainless Steel Plates to Children

The Akshaya Patra Foundation is providing nutrition-rich mid-day meals to more than 2.2 million children on each school day. The Foundation operates 72 kitchens across 16 states & 2 union territories in India to do so.

Need for stainless steel meal plates

Since 2000, the Foundation has been concerting all its efforts toward providing nutritious meals regularly. We have observed that children are not able to comfortably eat their meals due to lack of proper meal plates.

Children often serve their meals in plastic containers, disposable plates or small bowls. Eating meals from improper meal plates act as a barrier for children to enjoy their meals in entirety.

Thus, as a way forward, Akshaya Patra has taken the initiative to provide clean and hygienic stainless steel meal plates to all its beneficiaries, aside from providing regular meals. But, this will incur an additional cost that is over and above the meal cost.

For this, Akshaya Patra encourages you to participate in this initiative so that the actual objective of the Mid-Day Meal Programme can be attained.

  • Your contribution will help Akshaya Patra to procure the required number of stainless steel meal plates for each location;
  • Your contribution will allow children to comfortably savour their lunch from their own stainless steel meal plates; and
