Divyansh Wants to Build a Teleportation Device
“I won’t tell you; I’ll achieve it and show the world.”
— Divyansh Sharma, 8th grade, Mahatma Gandhi Government School, Mohi, Nathdwara, Rajasthan
Divyansh Sharma is an 8th standard student studying at Mahatma Gandhi Government School, Mohi, in Nathdwara, Rajasthan. He lives with his family of five members. Speaking about his family, he says, “I live near to school with my parents, grandmother and a sister. My father is a lecturer in a government school and my mother is a housewife. My sister studies in the same school. She is in 3rd standard.”
Divyansh has an interest in electronics and gadgets. At home he tries to learn about the science behind it and their working. “Whenever I am taking a break after studying, I try to build different electrical gadgets. Recently, I was trying to build a mini car using parts from different electrical equipment. But, I failed miserably,” he says laughing with embarrassment. This kind of experiment has made Divyansh realise his ambitions. “I want to become a hardware engineer.” “When I become one, I want to devise a teleportation machine. Although I have been doing a lot of research about it on the internet, some things are very complicated for me. Also, producing materials for that is difficult. But I’m sure one day I will build one and show it to the world,” he says with a sheer determination in his eyes.
While Divyansh works hard towards achieving his goal, he needs to study in class with rapt attention. This is where the mid-day meal served in school helps him by fuelling his hunger which keeps him focused in his classes. Speaking about the meals he says, “We get food every day here in school. There’s a variety on the menu. From that, my favourite is Laapsi.” Just like Divyansh there are two million children who benefit from Akshaya Patra’s mid-day meal programme (an implementation of PM Poshan Abhiyaan). These meals provide them with minimum nutrition required on a per day basis and aid in their physical as well as mental growth.
