16TH OCTOBER IS WORLD FOOD DAY.

Observed across 150 countries, it marks the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 1945. An annual event, this day is celebrated with specific themes to promote awareness about food security and the need to ensure healthy diets for all, with the aim to achieve Zero Hunger - Sustainable Development Goal #2. Marking the 75th anniversary of FAO, the theme for this year is:
“GROW, NOURISH, SUSTAIN. TOGETHER”

SERVE PLATES FULL OF FOOD WITH AKSHAYA PATRA

This 16th October, join the COVID-19 Food Relief Efforts of The Akshaya Patra Foundation. Our focus is to ensure that the marginalised and low-income sections of the society receive their share of food, every single day.

In order to address the food needs of all the vulnerable segments, we have taken a three-pronged approach.

COOKED MEALS & GROCERY KITS

We are providing cooked meals and grocery kits to the needy since 25 March 2020. So far, we have served 8.12 crores cumulative meals across 19 states.Your contribution will ensure regular food for the poor and marginalised.

HAPPINESS KIT PROGRAMME

To ensure continuity of nutrition and education, we are providing Happiness Kits to our mid-day meal beneficiaries So far,one lakh children across 10 locations have been benefited.Your contribution will ensure well-being of many more children across India.

ANGANWADI KIT PROGRAMME

Heeding to the nutritional requirement of growing children and lactating mothers, we are providing essential kits to our Anganwadi beneficiaries. Your support will ensure they receive adequate food and nutrition as per the dietary needs during the crucial stages of their lives.
