Food reaches at the right time

Originally from Raisen, Madhya Pradesh, 42-year-old Mohan Jadhav lives with his family in Bhopal. He works as a daily wage labourer in a thread manufacturing factory. The owner of the factory predicted a situation where services of people like him was not required. Hence, before the lockdown was announced, he was handed over two months’ salary. For the next couple of months, he managed his necessary expenditure like food and other commodities. However, due to the surge in prices during the lockdown, he quickly ran out of money. He wanted to go back to his hometown, but was left penniless. He thought to himself that “Three hundred kilometres is a long stretch for my kids to cover on empty stomachs.” He was left with no choice but to stay back and manage his expenses in some way or the other.

Around this same time, Akshaya Patra had begun serving cooked meals. With this NGO’s service, he was relieved that his family was saved from starvation. He wishes to start a job soon so that he can save some money and take his family back to Raisen. Once he reaches there, he would not have the fear of being stuck in another city.

When things seem to go off his control, cooked meals came to his rescue. Support the feeding of such needy people.
