The Akshaya Patra Foundation, to the rescue of flood victims in Jaipur

Akshaya Patra on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 came to the rescue of thousands of people affected by the heavy downpour in the city of Jaipur and surrounding areas in the state of Rajasthan. The Akshaya Patra Foundation distributed free food to over 20,000 people in the disaster prone areas. 

Heavy rains killed at least 14 persons and rendered hundreds homeless in the district and all the schools have remained closed. The next 48 hours will be crucial with the meteorological department predicting more rains. Akshaya Patra will continue to support the district administration in relief efforts.
