The COVID-19 pandemic raised numerous challenges in terms of availability of clean and hygienic food for the marginal sections of the society. While the country’s economic structure took a major hit, it was these financially challenged sections who had it the harshest.
To help them during such crucial times, we at the Akshaya Patra Foundation worked in close collaboration with Central, numerous State Governments and District Agencies to provide relief through countless food drives across India.
We persevere to provide healthy, hygienic and freshly cooked food to people across the country and help them build up their strength to stay safe from the pandemic.
With concrete kitchen hygiene guidelines laid down for all our staff personnel at the Akshaya Patra Foundation, we ensure zero compromises in food hygiene and sanitation across all our food drives.
Our nonprofit organisation cooperates extensively with numerous government agencies, and philanthropists to scale up food donations and reach as many people as possible throughout the country.
We have been sharing grocery kits and cooked meals to marginalised sections of the society namely, daily wage workers, construction labourers, site workers, old age homes and other low-income sections, while strictly adhering to all the food hygiene, kitchen hygiene and personal hygiene norms.
Our nonprofit organisation is currently conducting food drives throughout the States of Rajasthan, Karnataka, Telangana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Tripura, West Bengal, Punjab, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh.
Our food donations throughout the country have been clearly elaborated below:
