Let us celebrate India’s festival of giving!

India’s Joy of Giving Week (Daan Utsav) is a remarkable initiative that takes place between October 2 and 8. It celebrates and encourages the spirit of giving.

Akshaya Patra spreads joy and hope among millions of children every day. The school lunch programme run by the Foundation is the world’s largest NGO-run Mid-Day Meal Programme, serving over 1.6 million children across 13,839 schools in 32 locations of 12 Indian states.

Since 2000, the organisation has worked towards reaching more children with wholesome food on every single school day. We have grown from our humble beginnings, serving just 1,500 children across 5 schools. In the last 17 years of the Foundation’s journey to provide ‘Unlimited Food for Education,’ many young lives have been transformed and with each passing year, the programme continues to enable children to attend school every day.
