"Greetings. I am a Standard VI student from GHP School, Agara, Bengaluru, Karnataka. I stay with my grandmother since my father abandoned me after the demise of my mother.
I aim to become a doctor to "cure my grandmother". I see her coughing all day round, increasing at night. When I rub her back to comfort, she says, "until My Little Doctor is with me, nothing can harm me." The high cost of health care keeps my grandmother away from a check-up. By becoming a doctor, I want to cure my grandmother and provide free treatment to other people as well.
Akshaya Patra’s healthy mid-day meals are very important for me. I love the pulao served by Akshaya Patra at school."
"Hello All! I study in Standard VII at Kavi Narmad Prathmik Shala, School No. 156, Surat, Gujarat. My parents firmly believe that access to schooling is a concrete path to educational attainment.
At several instances, I have seen my Abbu promote learning and foster societal attitudes toward education among his circle of friends. Despite the social stigma of educating a girl child, he has been supporting my schooling under some of the most challenging circumstances including opposition from aging family members. By becoming a Professor, I want to see my father’s head held high.
I love Akshaya Patra’s healthy mid-day meals. It’s a blessing in disguise for me."
"Hi Everyone! I am a Standard VIII student from Dr. Ambedkar Secondary School and Junior College, Untakhana, Maharashtra.
I want to be an Indian Air Force Pilot. It has been my dream since Standard V. Pilots don’t have a fear of heights, something I admire a lot. I also want to fight for our country and make India proud. I am very fond of Geography and Science as I am very interested in learning about the earth and I also wish to invent something to help the nation.
I like Akshaya Patra’s mid-day meals because they are tasty and nutritious. Mixed vegetable subzi and cabbage subzi are my favourite. The meals give us the energy to study well and do well in life."
Akshaya Patra is creating a strong foundation for the country by providing food regularly to children. I congratulate your endeavour and effort; this effort is the best example of the 'I to We' journey.
Prime Minister of India
Akshaya Patra is a model of cooperation and scale that you have accomplished and demonstrated. It is better than any other model in the world.

There is no better expenditure of money and it’s really important for these kids to stay in school and learn. I love this programme; this is one of the finest commitments ever made in the 10-year history of Clinton Global Initiative.
Former President of USA
Visiting the kitchens was a very eye-opening experience. I loved seeing the smiling kids and was amazed at how much of an impact a meal can make in helping kids pursue their dreams.

This has been a great visit and it is wonderful to see how Akshaya Patra is reaching out to children in a huge way and addressing malnutrition for India’s children.

It is an amazing service you offer to the least in your community through passion, dedication and excellence. May the world bear witness of how such amazing things can be done with responsibility to care for people and the environment.

About 10 years ago, when I was assisting a large municipality on the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, I evaluated Akshaya Patra and its delivery capabilities. I was impressed with its intentions, team and operations, and started donating. From supporting a few students initially, to supporting many more now, I intend to keep increasing my contribution with every successive year.
I started my journey in contributing to Akshaya Patra from 2007 as I had read about their activities, especially feeding school children in India, which improves their quality of life and encourages them to get educated. With the grace of the Almighty, I wish to support Akshaya Patra for as long as I can, through donations or in person, when I find time.
President (Projects), Anrak Aluminium Limited
I was totally satisfied, both with the method of disbursement and the target population. Instead of spending money on yearly rituals of my parents’ Death Anniversary, I donate the amount to Akshaya Patra. Money spent on God’s children should please the God anyway.
